Do you offer free continuing education credits?

We have a selection of free courses, based upon your organizational affiliation, that you can check out in our shop! After completing a course, you will be able to access your certificate of completion, which contains your activity id for submission to your affiliated organization.

How Long Do I Have to Complete a Course?

You have one year after the purchase date to complete your course.

For example, if you purchased a course on June 25th, 2020 you would have until June 25th, 2021 to complete the course. 

What Happens If I Fail a Course?

Your course will reset and you will be allowed to retake the course until you have met the passing requirements as indicated by your organizational affiliation.

What's the Difference Between Full Courses and Topical Courses?

The difference between a full course and a topical course is that a topical course is typically derived from a full course and is focused on a singular topic. Topical courses are shorter then full courses as well.


Here's an example:
Financial and Managerial Accounting is a full course, where as Financial Accounting: Balance Sheet Analysis is a topical course derived from Financial and Managerial Accounting and its topical focus is Balance Sheet Analysis.

Do I Recieve an Activity Id/Certificate of Completion?

Yes, you can either purchase access to your certificate of completion before or after completing your course.

Please note: if you purchased before completion, your certificate of completion will not be available until you have completed your course.

How Quickly Do I Recieve My Credits After Completing a Course?

Immediately, once you have completed you will have access to your certificate of completion/activity ID to submit to your organization to redeem your credits.

Are there quizzes or exams?

Yes, all of our courses have various assessments, projects, assignments, and exams as apart of testing your understanding of the concepts presented in the course. In addition to the video and reading materials included.

What if I Have Questions About an Assignment, Project, or Exam?

NASBA/CPA

Are you really an approved provider with NASBA?

Yes, We are an authorized provider for NASBA and AICPA for technical and non-technical CPE credits. We are included in the NASBA registry for CPE credit providers, which you can check out here.

How many credits can I obtain with VTR's self-study courses?

Each state has special requirements and limitations for credits earned with self-study courses. Please refer to this guide to ensure you are meeting the requirements of your state.

I'm dually accredited with another organization, can I use these courses for continuing education credit for my other organization?

If you are dually accredited with HRCI, SHRM, or APA, we do have courses that qualify for continuing education credit with those organizations. If you are dually accredited with another organization, you would be unable to use VTR courses for continuing education credits.

Please note: Due to the passing requirements of NASBA/AICPA we are unable to use one course for multiple accreditation, meaning if you are dually accredited with a qualifying organization you will most likely have to take multiple organization-specific courses to satisfy your credit needs.

What are the passing requirements for NASBA/AICPA?

NABA/AICPA requires a passing score of 70% or higher for each module. If you fail to reach 70% or higher on a module your course will automatically restart for you to retake.

Do I have to be a CPA to use this site? I have three other certifications that require CPE (CIA, CISA, CFE) and cannot get the CPE I need.

While we provide continuing education credit for various organizations, the CPE credit offered through our courses is specified to suit the needs of members of the AICPA, and as such may not applicable for other accreditations like CIA, CISA, and CFE.

 

HRCI

Are you really an approved provider with HRCI?

Yes, We are an authorized provider for HRCI for General, Business, and Global credits. We are included on HRCI's approved provider page, which you can check out here.

How many credits can I obtain with VTR's self-study courses?

HRCI does not limit the amount of CEU's you can earn with VTRs self-study courses!

I'm dually accredited with another organization, can I use these courses for continuing education credit for my other organization?

if you are dually accredited with SHRM, APA, or NASBA/AICPA we do have courses that qualify for continuing education credit within those organizations. If you are dually accredited with an organization other than those listed above, you would be unable to use VTR courses in tandem for continuing education credits.

Please note: If you are dually accredited with SHRM you will be able to take the same course and to satisfy both organizations. However, due to passing requirements of these organizations, if you are dually accredited with APA or NASBA/AICPA, you will more than likely have to take multiple organization-specific courses to satisfy your credit needs. Contact us for special deals for dual accreditation.

We currently offer thirty courses for HRCI Business CEUs, with a wide range of topics such as Accounting and Business Strategy.

If you are dually accredited with HRCI, APA, or NASBA/AICPA we do have courses that qualify for continuing education credit with those organizations. If you are dually accredited with another organization, you would be unable to use VTR courses for continuing education credits.
